Nestled in the still-wooded area of the North-East part of the Bronx lies the Bartow-Pell Mansion, a stately gray stone residence-turned-museum built between 1836-1842 and restored between 1914-1918.

The Veneto in Italy is famous for many things—amazing glassware, fabulous theater, intricate masks. But the stunningly unique properties lining the ancient cobblestone streets are perhaps its most underrated attraction.

In a small gallery near Punta Della Dogana in Venice, photographer Andrea Scaramuzza displayed his work involving the restoration of centuries-old Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel. Not only were his photographs stunningly beautiful in their simplicity and subject matter, but the gallery in which they are displayed shows several examples of ways you can incorporate industrial, minimalist design into your own space. 

This week, I attended Wood Obsession, a special exhibit of the Galleria d'Arte Maggiore at Palazzo Loredan in Venice. The exhibit was a compilation of works by several different artists working in different mediums of wood. Rooms were compiled according to the type of wood used in the pieces, and each room was infused with the incense of the wood used.
